Baofeng DM-5R
This is not an easy radio to program for DMR use, but I have a codeplug ready to use for you.
Hints:
* If you don't already have the DM-5R program software, you can download it HERE.* You should not need to install a comm driver. This model radio uses a special cable that does not have the serial port circuitry built into the cable. Instead, the cable is a straight through... full USB connect cable. The CPS does not ask for a comm port to select.
Note: the traditional Baofeng cables will not work on this radio.
* Always have the CPS programming running BEFORE you plug the cable into the radio.
Initial Setup:
Left/Right Click HERE (save as) to download a beginning codeplug that will get you on the air fast (if given a choice, do not save this as a text file). This is a basic program file with two zones. The first zone is all DMR including the groups used on Timz DMR repeater; and other zone is all analog channels - local analog repeaters.
You will need to edit this Codeplug, to enter in your digital ID number.
note: you will need a digital radio ID; it's easy & free. click: https://www.radioid.net/#!
click the box near the bottom of the page: "I AGREE TO THE ABOVE TERMS AND CONDITIONS", and then click "Register Account"
After you load this codeplug into your software program; make the following changes:
* Under the General Setting screen, enter in your call sign (Radio Name), and digital ID (Radio ID).
* Save your codeplug under a new name.
* program your radio with this codeplug.
