Operational Specifics for Timz GMRS Repeater

(scroll down for equipment details)

 

* Located in Bellbrook, Ohio 45305.

* This stand-alone GMRS repeater is open for all licensed GMRS use.

* Weekly net on Tuesday, starting 7:30pm.

* This is a public GMRS repeater; "shared" is another description. If you want to use the repeater but there's already
a conversation taking place.... either come back later to see if cleared, or join in on the existing conversation.
It is a first-come first-served repeater. Only exception is the Tuesday 7:30pm net; that time slot is reserved.

* Do not text through this repeater, either use simplex or your own repeater for this task. If your radio sends APRS-GPS data, please click HERE

* Timz repeater has a courtesy beep, there's no need for your radio to generate any courtesy or "Roger" beep.

* Please announce your call sign at the very end of your final transmission, or every 15 minutes if it's a long one.

* The repeater sends its ID (via morse code) every 15 minutes when in use, and voice ID's every hour when idle.

* Tim doesn't worry about which radio you are using to access the repeater, but you must have a valid GMRS license.

* Timz GMRS repeater rebroadcasts National Weather Service warnings for Greene and Montgomery counties.
Warnings only, except for the weekly test. Listen for this test on Wednesdays starting 11am (generally
happens between 11:00 and 11:15). The Test broadcast lasts 45 seconds.

* This repeater has battery backup.

 

Hardware Specifics

* This repeater utilizes two Kenwood commercial mobiles, one for the receiver, one for the transmitter:

* ID-O-Matic 4 as the repeater controller that also generates the CW ID and Voice ID:

* Antenna (ETE FG4505W) 6.5' in length, located 50ft up on my tower (AMSL 1036):

* using LMR-600 coax

* 4 cavity notch/pass Duplexer
