What's New inside the greenhouse...
Non-stop begonias
planted in a hanging basket. The large flowers are easily
seen from the road in front of the house.
Mexican
Oregano grown from cuttings taken last fall. This herb has a
wonderful strong scent. Lobelia "Crystal
Palace" annual, grown from seed. I use it in containers
as an accent and as a border in sun and part
shade. Melampodium, an
annual grown from seed. The old flowers are overgrown by new
buds so you never have to dead head the spent
blooms. Rudbeckia Indian
Summer, likes full sun and grows about 2 feet tall on sturdy
stems. Should bloom until frost. Gazania mix; these
beautiful flowers love dry hot condtions and bloom as long
as the sun is out, all summer long, right up until
frost. Blue Bocopa started from cuttings.
They root very quickly and are a good accent plant in
containers. Poinsetta This will be pretty in a container
as an accent plant. It starts easily by rooting
cuttings. These geranium seedlings have the
details of an adult plant . Just look at the zone on it 's
first true leaf. They sprouted a couple of weeks
ago. I started these cactus plants from
seed a few years ago. The orchids are beautiful in the
fall while in bloom. A Christmas cactus is in the
background. I keep fresh herbs for use in the
kitchen. Rosemary has a wonderful scent and
taste. These New Guinea Impatiens were
landscape plants last season. I have cut back two of the
plants as their undergrowth is getting pretty
big. This white bacopa is a beautiful
accent plant in containers Lamium White Nancy is a good ground
cover. I use it with geraniums in a tree circle
bed.
