Yvonne's Greenhouse
Impatiens
Double rose Impatiens started from cuttings. They rooted rather quickly
when placed in water. The one major problem I had was spider mites. I didn't
want to spray them with insecticide because it would destroy the blooms.
I ended up spraying around the blooms with insecticidal soap and putting up
with the spider mites until spring when I re-potted them in baskets and in the
landscape outside. Since then, I discovered systemic insecticide and my new
Impatiens are completely bug free!
This shot is after a snow storm. Notice the greenhouse glazing is covered
with snow and ice.
